At one of our fabrication cells, the tools were nicely organized in Kaizen foam. The problem was that they were stored together instead of where they were actually used. Whenever an adjustment was needed at our bending station, the operator had to walk around another machine, get the tool, and then walk back. We divided the tools according to where they were needed and moved them directly to their point of use. It's a small change, but good organization isn't just about having a place for everything.
