Hey folks, here's a simple improvement from our packaging materials area. We use this scale to verify the weight of certain incoming and outgoing materials. The scale itself worked perfectly, but we'd positioned it too high. Some operators had to stand on a pallet to use it comfortably, and whenever the battery needed charging, we had to move the scale somewhere else. Our team fabricated a new wall-mounted bracket and positioned the scale at a much better working height, directly beside a power outlet. One change eliminated unnecessary motion and transportation, improved ergonomics and safety, and made charging the scale effortless. Sometimes you don't need to improve the equipment. You just need to put it in the right place. 👉 Subscribe for more practical Lean improvements and real-world manufacturing ideas. Learn more about how we apply Lean thinking at dgshsourcing.com. [0446]
