Hey folks, sometimes the work we're doing every day only exists because we never properly fixed the original problem. An air-conditioning unit in our production area drains through a small tube. We'd originally routed that tube onto a metal floor grate, where the water would spread across the surface. It worked, but the wet grate collected dust and regularly needed cleaning just to keep the area looking good. Eventually, we stopped cleaning the symptom and fixed the cause. Our team cut a small opening in the grate and routed the drain tube directly through it. The water now goes where it should have gone from the beginning, and the surrounding area stays clean and dry. It's a tiny improvement and one less unnecessary job to keep doing. 👉 Subscribe for more practical lean improvements and real-world manufacturing ideas.
