Hey folks, here's an example of a lean improvement that wasn't about speeding up our factory. Our trampoline storage bag includes six bungee cords in two different sizes. Previously, customers had to sort them and install each one in the correct location during assembly. The instructions explained how, but it still added unnecessary effort. We discovered that installing the bungees ourselves only added a few seconds during manufacturing, yet it removed confusion and saved time for every customer. This is a good example of omotenashi, the Japanese idea of thoughtfully anticipating a customer's needs.
