When we cut large stacks of fabric, we use clamps to hold everything tightly together. The clamps were stored in a bin underneath the cutting table. They were close to where they were needed, but the operator still had to bend down every time they needed one. Our team added a shelf directly below the work surface and used Kaizen foam to create a dedicated location for every clamp. Now the clamps are within easy reach, there's less unnecessary motion, and every tool has a clearly defined home. If one is missing, we can see it immediately.
