Hey folks, here's how one tiny action by one operator made the next operator's job much easier. When sewing these large sports nets, our operator had to find a very small mark showing exactly where the next sewing process should begin. With so much material to handle, simply finding that mark created unnecessary searching and frustration. The operator in the previous process already passes directly over that location, so we asked her to attach a small clip as a visual marker. Now the next operator immediately knows where to begin. It's a simple example of thinking beyond your own process. Before passing work downstream, ask whether you can do something to make the next person's job easier. In this case, one tiny clip reduced the next process time by 15%. 👉 Subscribe for more practical lean improvements and real-world manufacturing ideas.
