Currently Playing: Preparing for a Blizzard in Remote Alaska

Preparing for the weather and holding down to the homestead means the work never really ends. Water must be hauled, wood must be cut and carried, and the road home has to be kept open by our own hands. Winter doesn’t slow life here—it demands more of it. Every task is a small act of preparation, a quiet promise that the fire will stay lit and the day will go on. This is the rhythm of winter living: steady work, cold air, and the commitment it takes to keep everything moving forward.
