About a year ago we shared a simple no fuss method to making a strong sourdough starter. No measuring, scales, or special tools needed. If you missed it and are just getting started baking sourdough at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coxanY_MmZI&t=629s We bake a lot of sourdough on the homestead; its cheap, easy, and goes with just about everything. You don't need to go to the store for commercial yeast, and a starter made in your kitchen can be passed down for generations. Its not just trendy; its easier to digest and made with simple, wholesome ingredients. Slow fermentation helps break down gluten and phytic acid, creating bread that nourishes the body the old-fashioned way. A lot of folks had questions on it and keeping the starter once you get it going. We took the day and answered some of the most commonly asked questions. This is not the "correct" method of baking sourdough, just how we do it, and we hope it works for you, too! Til next week, -Dennis, Amy & Lena End Music By: @HawkenHorse, who wrote us "Holdfast".
