A few weeks ago we picked up an old cell tower generator as the new power source for the homestead. Eventually we will tie in solar but first we had to build a building to house it. Dennis has been working away and got the roof started and most of the walls up. We got to wiring the controller this week, and finally got her fired up. While we worked on the generator, we lacto fermented a batch of sauerkraut and cultured a 1/2 gallon batch of yogurt on the woodstove hearth. The goats are giving us about 1 gallon a day, with one more doe due to kid any day. The dogs also got some salmon scraps cooked up for lunch! We're in for 3 days of snow and -20 temps this week, time to turn our attention to getting ready for some weather!
