Ever wondered how Windows applications could run on a Sun Microsystems SPARC machine? In this video, I dive into Wabi 2.2, Sun's answer to Windows compatibility on Solaris in the 90s. I attempt to install it on a SunFire V120 server, only to hit major roadblocks due to Solaris 9’s 64-bit nature. But then I push through Solaris 2.5 on 86Box, and got Windows 3.1 running on Solaris! Was Wabi ahead of its time, or simply doomed from the start?
