In the early 1920s the Royal Navy rekindled its interest in submarine-launched spotting seaplanes. This led to conversion of the 12-inch gun armed submarine M2 into a carrier and to development of the innovative Parnall Peto. This is a brief look at an interesting, but ultimately tragic development in naval aviation.
