OKB Yakovlov were the major loser in the rise of Mikoyan & Gurevich in the early jet age. Their recovery centred on their success in the first generation of Soviet all-weather interceptors. And the first of those is the largely ignored Yak-25 Flashlight, an aircraft that launched a dynasty of related designs that served the Soviet Union into the 1980s.
