Currently Playing: B-26 Invader In Korea: Trains, Planes & A Big Pile Of Bricks

The Douglas B-26 Invader was too late to see widespread service in the Second World War. But just as it seemed like its career was over, Kim's invasion of South Korea in June 1950 plunged the Invaders and it unprepared crews into a vicious fight against communism. For the next three years, the Invader owned the night skies over North Korea, playing a fundmental role in holding back the communist threat. Sources: Warren Thompson "B-26 Invader Units Over Korea" is a superb book with many first-hand anecdotes and good pictures Scott Thompson's "Douglas A-26 And B-26 Invader" is my personal favourite text on the Invader, although the section on Korea isn't the most fulsome Frederick A. Johnsen's "Douglas A-26 Invader" is also a great read Good information on Project Redbird can be found here: https://napoleon130.tripod.com/id816.html
