The Douglas B-26 Invader forged a shadowy second career in clandestine Cold War operations, evolving from WWII "Red Stocking" agent drops to covert CIA missions across Europe and Asia. Re-deployed to Vietnam in 1961 under Project Farm Gate, the aging bombers proved lethal at low level until catastrophic wing fatigue forced their temporary grounding. Completely remanufactured by On Mark Engineering with reinforced spars and heavy wing hardpoints, the updated aircraft was re-designated the A-26A Counter Invader.
