Curated by: Obscurities in Miniature (283 videos)
I tend to like small things. Y'know, like miniatures? Wasn't surprising in the least that I dug Enfu's art. It's full of all sorts of brightly colored pop culture goodness. Much of it, especially the first third of the book at least, is all these tiny little compartmentalized drawings of just about everything. There's no rhyme or reason as to why each bit is on that page. It just is. Despite all the years I've owned this, I always seem to stumble across something I didn't notice the prior viewings of. I think I first stumbled upon his work in Giant Robot. I know his work was vaguely familiar to me when he was at the Giant Robot booth at Comic Con quite a few years back. Perhaps due to my other brother's influence? He was really involved in the indie publishing/ zine scene of the 90s and I often helped out, going to shows and events with him often led to us meeting all sorts of interesting people. I know we'd gone to quite a few Giant Robot exhibitions and events over the years as well. I'm just reminiscing at this point, aren't I? Hell, I could probably do an episode on my collection of old issues of the magazine. I used to have most of the single digit issues too. Back to the art. While primarily an art book, there's a lot of mediums and styles showcased here. It's not all just chibi stuff. It's not all pop culture either, although there's a lot of it throughout. There's a lot to take in here. Some links to check out if you're curious- Enfu's Homepage- https://enfu.com/ Giant Robot- https://www.giantrobot.com/ Amazon link- https://amzn.to/3oWmh1w
