While my copy may have been from 1991, I believe this was originally published in similar form in 1979 as there seems to book covering a lot of the same material, but perhaps without some of the later Frankenstein pieces. Wrightson was one of those artists I keyed in on real early. If I recall correctly, I got this as a Christmas gift from my grandparents (but more than likely purchased by my dad, who always has done most of the legwork when it comes to nerdy gift shopping). I knew what I was getting in to with this and it blows my mind how even from an early point in his career Wrightson was already quite the skilled draftsman. I can remember myself and my other brother wholeheartedly copying Wrightson's techniques for illustrating rocky crags and mountains. I'd suggest looking for some of the old Swamp Thing or House of Mystery/ House of Secrets omnibus books if you want to see more of his work, or possibly the Warren Archives that Dark Horse has put out. Sadly a lot of this stuff is out of print now, as always seems to be the case, but some of it can still be had for quite a reasonable price!
