I don't recall when I first became cognizant of Terada's art, but certainly the first time I ever came across it was in the old Nintendo Power articles discussing Legend of Zelda. His art resonated with me even then. It's part of the reason why I love the Kingdom Death art so much. Seriously- go google "katsuya terada legend of zelda" and tell me you don't see a major artistic influence on Lockman Lam's KD art. Speaking of influences, one of the things that I always appreciated about Terada is the influence European comics have had on him. There is a very obvious Mobius influence going on here, and that's not something seen often in the manga scene, but certainly should be, as the guy was a master. Terada is a super prolific artist and this is, as far as I know, the first (and possibly only?) book of his work that's been published in English. There's a whole heck of a lot more out there, but this is definitely a good primer on the variety of material he's put out. One of the biggest frustrations is the fact that while it is in English, so little of it is actually cataloged or indexed very thoroughly here. I recognize some pieces, but not all, and the afterword is very sparse. I would've appreciated a bit more info on what more of these pieces were commissioned or used for.
