Section 99 is a mission call to a man who had lost his wife, gave his twins up for adoption, and faced the needs of his remaining children after serving other missions for the Church. John Murdock seems to be asked to do more than others were required to do, but he was faithful. In this part we also get a letter to Joseph Smith's uncle Silas who held back in believing what Joseph was preaching. However, after some special words and invitations, Silas and his family joined the Saints in a remarkable family conversion story.
