Joseph and his colleagues are incarcerated in Liberty Jail and doing the best they can do care for their own and answer questions. From a single letter on the 22 of March 1839 we get the rest of section 121 and all of 122 and 123. This is more than advise, it is a pattern for how to deal with the bad things of life, how to forgive, and how to try and look for inspiration in the most difficult and dark of times.
