Section 111 is a revelation from Salem, MA which implies that Joseph and his companions are searching for treasure or money on their mission to the Eastern States. These stories don't line up exactly, and thus we fill in the history. We made it through the rest of 1836 and troubles, debts, and friendships start to become major issues.
