Smoking an Uruma Cigarette from Japan (Review), which contain 17mg of Tar, and 1.2mg of Nicotine, making this a full flavor pack without a doubt. Uruma is a Okinawan cigarette brand that was first introduced in 1960 by the Ryukou Tobacco Company, which first founded in 1951, and was the largest tobacco company on the island at the time. In 1972, Japan Tobacco, then a government monopoly, conglomerated all the relevant companies in the prefecture together, and continued to manufacture some of the brands, including Uruma, Violet, and Hi-Tone, with the latter two sadly having both been discontinued in the last 10-20 years, and while these continued to be produced on the island itself for some years, that is no longer the case, and they are now produced in the mainland, and then exported. Today, this brand is the one of the last (kind of) prefecture-exclusive cigarettes that JT produces, and while I don't know how truly popular they are, I'm figuring that they are probably quite popular, and that people would heavily complain if they were discontinued, as it appears there is some cultural significance behind them.
