Review and Smoking a Sonoma Gold / Yellow Light Cigarette. Sonoma is a budget brand of cigarettes that was first introduced sometime in the early 1990's by Commonwealth Brands, which was a value orientated manufacturer that came into existence in 1991. All brands originating from Commonwealth were sold off in the early 2000's, not once, but twice, and today are produced by ITG, which is Imperial Tobacco's United States subsidiary. This nameplate is still very much value orientated, and today can be found readily nearly everywhere, in my area at least. Or at least, the common varieties can. These are a different story.
