Bombay Bakery is one of Pakistan's most iconic bakeries, and its story began long before the Partition of India. Founded in 1911 in Hyderabad, Sindh, by Sindhi Hindu businessman Pahlajrai Gangaram Thadani, the bakery was named after Bombay (now Mumbai), a city he greatly admired. Over the decades, the bakery became famous for its cakes, biscuits, and closely guarded family recipes. The bakery remained in the Thadani family for generations. After Pahlajrai, it was run by his son, Kishinchand Thadani, and later by his grandson, Kumar Thadani. Following Kumar Thadani's death in 2010, the bakery passed to his adopted son, Sonoo, who had converted to Islam and later became known as Salman Shaikh.
