Walking through the Chaukhandi Tombs in Sindh, Pakistan, I couldn't help but wonder - why don't we build tombs like this anymore? These beautifully carved sandstone monuments date from the 15th to 18th centuries and were created as lasting memorials for tribal leaders, warriors, and their families. Every carving tells a story, from traditional jewellery and textiles to horses, weapons, and intricate geometric designs. They're a reminder that history wasn't only written in books - it was carved into stone.
