Deep within the vast Makli Necropolis in Thatta, Sindh, Pakistan, lies a grave unlike any other. While most rulers and nobles were laid to rest beneath grand, protective domes, this particular tomb stands exposed to the relentless sun. It belongs to Bakibag Uzbek, a historical figure known for his brutal reign. After fleeing to Thatta following a defeat by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, Bakibag Uzbek continued a life marked by cruelty, even reportedly killing his own brother. Legend suggests that upon his death in 1640 AD, his final resting place was deliberately constructed without a roof, forcing him to endure the scorching heat as a permanent punishment for his past transgressions. It remains a haunting reminder of how history treats tyrants.
