These oversized vintage nightstands have been passed down through generations—complete with all the character you'd expect: water damage, a dated finish, and dust bunnies galore. But underneath it all? Beautiful brass hardware and solid craftsmanship just waiting to shine. In this makeover, I used a carbide scraper, orbital sander, and contour sanding blocks to strip the tops and prep the surfaces. After a thorough scuff sanding and deep clean inside and out, these pieces headed into the spray tent for primer, paint, and multiple coats of protective topcoat. The final finish? A timeless, coastal-inspired look using Mysterious by Benjamin Moore—a rich, deep tone that brings out the elegance in every curve and corner.
