I saw these chests on Facebook Marketplace. They were being sold by a thrift store about 30 minutes away, but I loved the lines and could envision them as oversized nightstands, so I quickly jumped in the truck and headed over. Once I arrived and saw them in person, I knew I had to have them. However, they were priced at $220 and that is more than I am willing to pay for nightstands, even as cool as they were. I was able to negotiate the price down to $100!!! Woohoo! SOLD! So, we loaded them up, took them home and the transformation began! All I could envision with these was solid black with gold hardware. The current design had no hardware and although I find that a unique design with clean lines, I find that buyers prefer hardware. So, I did some repairs, sanded them and began the color transformation. These are probably the size of gentlemen’s chests, but I see them as oversized nightstands. Which would you call them?
