I saw this dresser for FREE on Facebook Marketplace! It doesn’t happen often, but when I see them, I must jump in the truck and pick them up immediately or they are gone. Thankfully, I was first in line and was able to get it picked up quickly. I love this style. It is very common, and you can do so much with it! I immediately had a plan and couldn’t wait to dive in. I cleaned, sanded, and then cut the scalloped edges off the base. Little did I know I would run into a huge problem mid-way when I found out that a huge chunk of the foot was completely gone. Ugh. But I have learned that with each makeover, there is always at least one thing that goes sideways, so I get to utilize my problem solving skills and figure out a solution. I went a couple of different ways with the repair, but the final solution was a winner! I painted this in a custom soft black and mixed a couple of stain colors for the base color as well. I installed all new hardware after painting them so they would all be a uniform color and this dresser is now up to today’s modern standards, while still holding on to its traditional style.
