This was one of the most extreme furniture makeovers I’ve ever taken on—and the transformation is absolutely worth it! I started with a long dresser and two nightstands that weren’t even a matching set. But with creativity, problem-solving, and a whole lot of work, I turned them into a stunning cohesive set. The process was no small task. I had to strip the tops down to bare wood, rebuild the nightstand bases, and add trim supports for brand-new legs to bring everything to the right height. I replaced the old hardware, repaired damage, and made countless adjustments to ensure each piece flowed together as one. For the finish, I chose a warm neutral paint color called Weathered Stone by Farmhouse Paint for the bodies. The tops were stained in a rich, modern shade called Briarsmoke, which adds depth and contrast while keeping the set timeless and versatile. Once the new supports and legs were in place, the updated height gave the dresser and nightstands a balanced, elevated look. The end result is a fully customized bedroom set that looks like it was always meant to be together. This project shows just how far furniture refinishing and a creative eye can take you—what started as mismatched, outdated pieces are now a beautiful, modern, and functional set that will last for years to come.
