Turning a Common Marketplace Dresser Into a One-of-a-Kind Piece This dresser is one I see listed on Facebook Marketplace all the time. It’s a common style, often overlooked, and usually passed up in favor of something more unique. But I believe even the most basic pieces can be transformed into something truly special with the right vision and a little effort. This one had a large blemish on the top, but the structure was solid and the overall condition was good. I saw the potential—and I knew it could be better. Different. Beautiful. The process started like it always does: a thorough cleaning, followed by sanding to smooth out imperfections and prep the surface. Once prepped, I applied primer to create a strong foundation for paint. From there, I chose a soft yet striking color to give this dresser a fresh identity, then sealed it all in with multiple coats of protective topcoat for a durable, lasting finish. To complete the transformation, I installed stunning new adjustable pull hardware that added just the right amount of modern style and versatility. It’s such a simple update, but it completely changes the feel of the piece.
