I saw this pop up on Facebook for FREE and I was practically in my truck while I was messaging. I can’t believe I got it! I see this mission style quite often and I am excited about modernizing this style. So, I removed the hardware, cleaned and then removed those “wings” that make mission style appear more mission style. With those removed, the overhand on the top is now too large. So I marked it and cut it to 1.5”. Once the top was cut, I added some edge banding so I would have a smooth surface for painting. I used Bondo to fill in all the hardware holes and it was time for one more cleaning. Into the spray tent for primer, paint and topcoat, sanding in between each layer. All new hardware was installed as well as beautiful coordinating drawer liners. Now this dated mission style is an all-new modern color, a perfect showstopper!
