This armoire lives outside on the back patio. After years of being exposed to the elements, the paint is disintegrating! After hours and hours and even more hours of scraping paint, sanding and repairs, I was able to turn this around and breathe new life into it! My favorite carbide scraper for flat areas https://amzn.to/46ZDDAU Contour scraper https://amzn.to/3Vt46E9 Tips: Be sure to use two hands. One on the handle and the other on the top ball. Apply steady firm pressure, but not too hard. Pull towards you. Always scrape WITH the grain. Going against the grain can cause significant damage. You’ll know you’re doing it right when you take off long strips of varnish. Once you have everything stripped down, it’s time to sand! if your blades seems dull, it probably is. They are easy to change.
