In this The Last Caretaker New Horizons update video, I explore the underwater research outpost Theta 9 and continue the new update questline. This abandoned laboratory is still broadcasting an old emergency survivor signal, so we dive below the ocean, fight through pressure damage, hostile creatures, sealed rooms, battery problems, and strange cocoon systems to find out what was left inside. The main goal of this video is to find a way into the research lab, restore access, search the underwater facility, and locate the source of the signal. The lab is full of hazards, blocked doors, underwater sections, hidden paths, pressure problems, and enemies that make every mistake dangerous. I also test the new keybind setup, the Rhino tool, batteries, grenades, and different ways of surviving inside a deep underwater location. Inside the lab, I find the authorization system, open locked areas, explore hidden rooms, clear infected sections, and eventually reach the preserved hollow memory of Dr. Marcus Roth. This unlocks the Abyssal Propulsion schematics, giving access to a stronger underwater jet upgrade with better thrust, deeper pressure tolerance, and longer underwater control. This update adds a lot more underwater exploration to The Last Caretaker, and this lab is one of the most atmospheric parts of the New Horizons patch so far. It has strong environmental storytelling, useful new technology, dangerous exploration, and a clear reason to go back and scrap old locations for materials because future updates are going to need a lot of resources.
