Currently Playing: I Experimented With Pears. The Results Were DEVESTATING ! Last Caretaker New Patch

In this The Last Caretaker New Horizons update video, I test one of the newest systems in the patch: sending pears to space. The plan is simple at first: load pears into the rocket, send them into orbit, open the reward pods, and find out what kind of items, seeds, memories, or resources we get back. The experiment starts with sending a large amount of pears together with a human pod, because the rocket does not seem to accept an empty payload yet. I test different pear amounts to see whether the reward changes, whether bigger shipments give better results, and whether pears are actually worth farming on the ship or Eden platform. The result is not exactly what I expected. Instead of giving major rewards, useful resources, or special progression items, pears mainly seem to return Elysium birch seeds. For every pear sent to space, the game appears to give back one birch seed, which quickly becomes a problem because the seeds start stacking strangely and may even be connected to crashes or inventory bugs. I also test whether birch seeds and pears are useful in the Recovery Grinder. The results are not very impressive. Pears and birch seeds can give a little bit of oil, but not enough to make grinding them worth it. This makes pear farming much less exciting than I expected, especially after building a garden on the ship specifically to produce them. This video also shows some of the problems with ship gardens after the patch. Pear trees can shift position when the sea gets rough, objects can load strangely, and the whole fruit system still feels unfinished. Because of that, I may remove most of the garden later unless pears get more important in a future update. For now, the best use for pears may be putting them into human creation to improve stats and get better memory rewards from stronger humans. But as a space cargo item, pears currently feel weak, and Elysium birch trees still need a clearer purpose.
