Currently Playing: 4 Things You Can Do If You Finished The Game Before The Final Patch Is Here For The Last Caretaker

In this The Last Caretaker New Horizons video, I talk about the most important things you should do before the next patch arrives. Since the next major update may be the final patch before full release, this is the best time to prepare your ship, finish your committees, gather materials, collect rare items, and get ready for the endgame. The first thing I recommend is completing all of your committees. Every committee has started giving quests, and those quests may become more important in the final patch or in a possible half patch before release. If you have enough memories, use them carefully, finish your remaining council members, and use the old token for higher-tier humans if needed. The second big preparation is gathering materials, especially iron, oil, and steel. The Eden platform already used a huge amount of stainless steel, and since the current frame is only the small version, bigger platforms may need even more resources. Steel cables may also arrive later, so saving iron and oil now could save you a lot of pain when the next systems are added. You should also complete the committee quests that unlock special restoration trees. Pear trees, Elysium cherry trees, and Aleppo pine trees may become more important in future updates. Right now, pear trees are the most useful, but cherry and pine trees may connect to future Eden platform systems, oxygen production, paper, memory production, or other late-game mechanics. Another thing to do is collect optional items. The cassette player gives you a reason to revisit old locations and find music cartridges. You can also collect PCO games, scan logs, find remaining memories, and explore places you skipped before. I have found several cartridges so far, but there may be more hidden around the world. This is also a good time to rebuild your ship. After the distillation nerf and the New Horizons changes, wind power, batteries, diesel, oil storage, and mixed fuel systems matter more than before. Full oil setups are weaker now, so a balanced ship build with wind turbines, batteries, diesel, and oil support is probably safer going into the final patch. New Horizons does not give as many replay goals as some earlier updates, so this stage is mostly preparation. Finish your councils, save resources, collect rare trees, rebuild your ship, gather music, explore missing logs, and get ready for whatever the final journey brings. Also, show support to the developers. The game is close to release, and feedback, comments, likes, reviews, and community discussion can help the game reach more players. The Last Caretaker has come a long way, and now we are getting close to seeing the full story.
