Forbidden Fruit, is a classic southern soul cheating song recorded by Mobile, Alabama native, Eugene Watkins, who performed under the stage name of Tiny Watkins. Watkins got his start in gospel music during the late 1950's and early 1960's and dabbled in secular music during this period as well. Turning to secular music full time when he signed with the Nashville based, Excello, label in 1967, Watkins recorded several gems including this personal favorite of mine that he co-wrote with Finley Duncan.
