Finley Duncan owned the Playground Recording Studio and the Minaret label based in Valparaiso, Florida in the late 1960's and early 1970's. On the roster at Minaret was Doris Allen, an Aiken, South Carolina native, who recorded several singles on Minaret in 1969 - 1970. The gem of her recording career was the power ballad, A Shell Of A Woman, a remarkable tour de force from Allen. The flip side was, Kiss Yourself For Me. If you like southern down home soul, you'll love, A Shell Of A Woman.
