Often described as the world's greatest soul singer, James Carr's incredible vocal talents are on full display on this 1968 recording titled, A Message To Young Lovers. The song was written by Quinton Claunch and Rudolph Russell and released on the Goldwax label as the B-side to, Life Turned Her That Way. Carr was equally adept at delivering deep country soul as well as uptempo floor burners. His career was limited by his struggles with mental health that resulted in sporadic studio recording sessions and periods of going off the grid during the height of his commercial success which made it difficult to maintain his career momentum.
