Billy Young recorded for a variety of labels during the 1960's including Original Sound, Jotis, Chess, Shout and Mercury before starting his own label in 1970 called Joyja, based in Macon, Georgia. The former opening act for Otis Redding had a vocal delivery similiar to his mentor but for some reason, never truly had a breakout hit despite obvious vocal talent. Still My Life Through, was released on Joyja in 1970.
