The Town I Live In was McKinley Mitchell's breakout national hit in 1962. The veteran Chicago bluesman kicked around various recording labels for more than ten years before signing with Malaco Records in the mid 70's. He then re-recorded an updated version of his previous hit as well as The End Of The Rainbow and another song I love, The Same Old Dream. The vastly underrated artist passed away in 1986.
