Originally released on the Glo-Whiz label, Gloria Taylor's, You Got To Pay The Price, was leased to the Louisana based, Silver Fox, label for wider distribution and the result was a #9 Cash Box chart hit, week ending 12/6/69. Taylor and another Detroit native, Betty Lavette, both had songs distributed by Silver Fox starting in 1969 which brought them more recognition and more sales success.
