Well that trip to the grocery store sucked! Part Time Lover, Full Time Fool, by Loleatta Holloway, was released as a single on the Atlanta based, Aware label, in 1973. While it didn't chart nationally, it was a strong regional hit for Holloway and got her increased exposure that would pay off for her as the disco boom hit a few years later.
