Orlando, Florida native, Annette Snell, had been a member of the both the Mar-Vells and the Fabulettes during the 1960's before relocating to New York and then to Nashville to pursue a solo career. She hooked up with Paul Kelly who introduced her to Buddy Killen, who owned the Dial label and together with Kelly as her principal songwriter, Snell embarked on a successful solo career starting in 1972. Her biggest hit was, You Oughta Be With Me, which peaked at #28 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 11/20/73. Tragically, Snell died in a plane crash in 1977 on her way back home from a recording session in Muscle Shoals. She was only 32 years old.
