To make French Onion style Puff Pastry Puff Pastry Sheet (14” x 10”) 34.5cm x 23.5cm 2lbs Thinly sliced onion - (peeled weight) 1oz Butter 1 tbspn Olive Oil 1 Egg Half Cup Fresh Breadcrumbs Half Cup Grated Parmesan Pinch of Dried Thyme Pinch of Rosemary 1 Tbspn Dijon Mustard A few Thyme leaves to sprinkle - optional) Key Pointers * The border isn’t essential but it gives you a framework to work within. If you prefer to fold the pastry to form a border rather than make the strips by hand that would work too, but I would advise to likely draw a line to form your border of 0.5 inch and then fold to the line. Also, I would make a half inch nick in each corner. * allow plenty of time for the onions to cool down before spreading them on your pastry * you can mix the breadcrumbs with the cheese Advice * Oven bake for 25 - 30 minutes on 180c / 350f - * spread the Dijon mustard on the pastry thinly - the alternative option to mustard would be thin slices of Gruyère or Gouda * remember if you capitalise the onions too much they will get browner in the oven Tips * Stay with the onions don’t leave them * a good pinch of mixed herbs substitutes the Thyme & Rosemary * a mixture of onion would work equally well Please let me know all your thoughts in the comment section in the description box below Good luck My most recent video is a viral sensation and it really is amazing.
