Currently Playing: Sam Shamoun Speaks With Jehovahs Witness Who Saw A Light Bringing Her To Christianity

Sam Shamoun talks with a former Jehovah's Witness who wanted to open up about a strange, deeply personal experience from 2011 that eventually brought her back to reading the Bible. She describes praying like never before after losing a newborn during a painful marriage, and shortly after seeing a glowing, volleyball-sized light with lightning inside it appear in her kitchen, communicating to her telepathically to not be afraid, filling her with an overwhelming, unexplainable love, and later instructing her not to speak of it. Sam presses her on whether she believes the experience was demonic or divine, and she admits she's not fully certain but leans toward believing it was from God since it ultimately drew her back to scripture years later in 2023. The conversation shifts into her questions about the Jehovah's Witnesses' practice of the Memorial, where she brings up 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 to challenge the belief that only the "anointed class" of 144,000 can actually partake of the bread and the cup rather than just observe it. Sam confirms her reading is correct, explaining that Paul was addressing the entire church at Corinth, not a select anointed few, and encourages her to hold off on debating her Jehovah's Witness family members until she's studied the topic thoroughly enough to answer their objections with confidence.
