Sam Shamoun talks with former mafia boss Michael Franzese about the jews being the chosen people of god in the bible, walking through how his views evolved from a strict dispensationalist framework the more he studied church history and scripture in depth. He explains Galatians 3 and 4 to show that the New Testament identifies Jesus himself as the true seed of Abraham and true Israel, recapitulating Israel's history in his own life, from spending 40 days in the wilderness mirroring Israel's 40 years, to being named Israel in Isaiah 49. Sam draws a striking parallel between Joshua, whose original Hebrew name Hoshea was changed to Yehoshua, the same name as Jesus in Hebrew, showing how Joshua leading Israel into the earthly promised land foreshadowed Jesus leading believers into a heavenly one. He balances this by affirming the Jews remain God's chosen people who will never be wiped out, while still teaching that both Jew and Gentile need Christ, pointing to Romans 2 to show greater knowledge brings greater accountability rather than exemption from judgment. Sam closes by arguing true Christianity is inherently incompatible with antisemitism, since Christians proclaim that God himself became a Jew, using Romans 9:4-5 to highlight the patriarchs, covenants, and Christ himself as blessings that came directly through Israel.
