Sam Shamoun talks with a caller from a Sikh background preparing to enter RCIA, walking him through how to make the case for Christianity to fellow Sikhs who believe all religious paths are equally valid. Sam explains that the entire argument hinges on the resurrection, since if Christ truly rose from the dead, it validates his claim to be the divine Son of God, meaning by definition anything contradicting him, including Sikhism's teaching that all roads lead to truth, must be false, since truth by its very nature is exclusive. He role-plays as the caller's skeptical friend, pressing through common objections like the claim that the resurrection appearances were merely spiritual rather than physical, or that the disciples fabricated the story, and walks through why neither explanation accounts for the historical facts scholars broadly accept, including Jesus's crucifixion, burial by a member of the Sanhedrin, the empty tomb discovered by women, and the disciples' transformation from fearful followers into people willing to die proclaiming they'd seen him risen. Sam pushes the caller to think through why monotheistic Jews would suddenly begin worshiping a fellow Jew as divine, and why Gentiles would abandon their pantheons entirely for a crucified foreigner, arguing that no natural explanation, including "hysteria," adequately accounts for the explosive spread of the early church apart from the resurrection genuinely having occurred.
