Sea Power Naval Combat in the Missile Age

Currently Playing: EP.1 Enforcing the Quarantine Line | Sea Power: Crossing the Line ’86

We’re kicking off Crossing the Line ’86, a custom Sea Power campaign created by TJ. Built around the same Task Force-style campaign mechanics introduced with Pacific Strike, this campaign gives us persistent ships, Task Force Builder options, repairs, reinforcements, and the consequences of every engagement carrying forward into later missions. Our first mission, Quarantine Line, puts Task Group 136.3 in the Windward Passage on 24 October 1986. A Soviet convoy carrying offensive weapons bound for Nicaragua is approaching Cuba under escort, and our orders are to intercept it and enforce the quarantine without firing unless fired upon first. That becomes easier said than done with Soviet surface combatants, submarines, MiG-21s operating from Cuba, and the possibility that one bad decision could turn a tense interception into a much larger Cold War confrontation.
