Sea Power Naval Combat in the Missile Age

Currently Playing: EP.10 An Echo II Surfaced and Unleashed Its Entire Missile Salvo | Pacific Strike ’85 | Sea Power

Task Group 77.3 continues the fight in Action in the Java Sea, where Soviet surface forces—including a Sovremenny-class destroyer and Sverdlov-class cruiser—stand between us and control of the region. But the biggest threat of the mission doesn’t come from the surface fleet. After attacking an Echo II submarine with our P-3, we believe the threat has been eliminated and turn our attention back to the larger battle. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The damaged Echo II survives, surfaces, and—with our P-3 still overhead—unleashes its anti-ship missile salvo at Task Group 77.3. The attack is devastating. USS Preble and USS Badger come dangerously close to being lost, while USS Scott isn’t so fortunate. What looked like a successful ASW attack suddenly becomes one of the most dangerous moments of the entire Pacific Strike ’85 campaign. One submarine we thought was dead nearly tears the task group apart. #SeaPower #PacificStrike85 #NavalCombat #SubmarineWarfare #ASW #TaskForceMode #NavalWarfare#Ryu1940 Join the discord and chat about naval gaming: https://discord.gg/Ghd7USB7Wy
