Sea Power Naval Combat in the Missile Age

Currently Playing: Sea Power Beta - We Got Active Sonar Contact at 30 Miles! Mind the Gap Part 2

The hunt continues in Part 2 of Mind the Gap, one of Sea Power's most challenging anti-submarine warfare missions. With the latest public beta sonar changes in effect, we put the updated SQS-53C through its paces and achieve something that would have been nearly impossible in previous versions of the game—a 30 nautical mile active sonar contact on a Soviet Victor III submarine. The long-range detection allows the task force to localize and prosecute the contact, ultimately leading to the destruction of the Victor III. But the mission is far from over. A Soviet Tu-22 Backfire strike catches the task force off guard, resulting in the loss of an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate. To close out the mission, we launch a search and rescue operation using our ships and helicopters to recover survivors, taking advantage of Sea Power's new survivor tracking and recovery mechanics.
